**HAPPY MONDAY!** Its a good day to make it an ill' nasty day! Let's continue our chat on "The 9 Types of Motivation." Let me be clear, Jess does not care what type of motivator you have, as long as you know how to use it as your tackling' fuel...
ATTITUDE MOIVATION:
A problem with our attitude, perspectives, and beliefs is an issue that many of us face. It can become a problem in the way that we move throughout our lives to the point that we begin to lose our happiness and miss out on our dreams.
Attitude motivation is a kind of motivation that comes to those who intensely desire to change the way that they see the world around them, and the way that they see themselves. Goals associated with self-awareness and self-change will be met with attitude motivation.
YOU NEED AN ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT MISTER! Attitude is a psychological construct, a mental and emotional entity that inheres in, or characterizes a person. They are complex and an acquired state through experiences. It is an individual's predisposed state of mind regarding a value, and it is precipitated through a responsive expression toward a person, place, thing, or event (the attitude object) which in turn influences the individual's thought and action.
Non Shrink terms? Attitude is your reflection and others perception of YOU created via experiences.
THIS MIGHT BE ME IF:
Self Confidence is derived via others vision of yourself.
Energy boost reviving critique or confirmation from others.
Personal growth is built-in changing the way others feel about you.
Relentless pursuit of desire to change people perception of you not necessarily for the better or worse.
SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Well hey this could be a valuable one. What is this job essentially? It is walking in a room and changing peoples' perception of WHO you are - not only from a booking the room perspective, but from a WHO the character is on paper to being translated into a living breathing person standing in that 8x8 room in front of them. Being motivated by this very task could certainly prove helpful!
The first thing you need to consider is how can we use the power for good? Each type of motivation comes with strong built-in aspects, but also comes with downside - so figuring out how to USE your personality's inherent power-aspects, and not let them use you, is the key.
The one challenge that sticks out at me with respect to "Attitude-ly Motivated People" (yes that may not be a word, I know) is that in this business trying to change EVERYONES perception of you could ultimately be very daunting and draining task. How do you keep all the energy you need to keep this up? How do you expel it when needed? How do you not let it drain you? So, that may be something to dig deeper into. Unfortunately, I don't have the answers, nor am I qualified to give them, so check out some articles I complied around "Attitude," changing one's attitude as well as the relationship of attitude on motivation and psychological effects and make your own educated guess.
WRAP UP: We are all built differently and FACT: this team (like any team) is built of all different types of people, different skill sets, different motivators, different backgrounds, and different styles. It was built this was intentionally, because while we love Kevin Caliber, we definitely don't need 50 of him. Sorry bro.
There is no right or wrong way to BE, but, I promise you if you don't know exactly who YOU are, and how you tick, you can't expect anybody else to know that. That is where people become frustrated, not only with the business, but with life. Every single thing ever, starts with you. You affect everything you touch through your experience with it, and your attitude towards it.
So LEARN WTF you are about.
How seriously you take your life is what you can expect to get out of it.
That's really all there is to it.
