All I have to say is that this is hard work. I've worked hard for a long time, and it's not about, you know...it's not about winning. But what it's about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it. There's a discipline for passion. And it's not about how many times you get rejected or you fall down or you're beaten up. It's about how many times you stand up and are brave and you keep on going.

Hard stuff isn't just hard because of the physical work it takes, or financial sacrafices but mostly because of the tole it takes mentally. Being mentally tough is the name of the game.
Choosing to do things that are hard, demands a certain discipline, a certain focus that most people just do not have, most people give up.....Thats why most people are "most people"...... Last night, Gaga said it perfectly.....
"There's a discipline for Passion"
What a SPOT ON way to put it and it piggy backs perfectly as to what Jess Canty wrote about recently. The fact is self-discipline is far more important than passion, in fact, if you develop the quality of self-discipline to a high degree, it will put passion to shame. Self-discipline allows you take action and therefore get results no matter what your emotional state. Doing the hard work that is required to be successful in any endeavor is HARD because you don't know for sure if that work will become your goal.
WHY ROCKY IS THE BEST: We love Rocky because he grinds and pushes and has amazing training montages all in the face of overwhelming odds against his success. We love that about those movies because we want to see that in our selves....That discipline to chase the passion. Fighting the odds and coming out on the other side victorious. The best people in EVERY category have this same drive even if they aren't running up stairs or punching slabs of meat.
They have the same relentless pursuit of excellence, weather its RBG reviewing law books every night untill 4am or PINK (who just received a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame) telling Variety "I don’t sell sex, I don’t sell perfume, I’m not the prettiest, I’m not the best.
I’m f–king hard-looking and I have enough talent and I work on my f–king craft and I put my head down and I win."
So no, you don't need to do sit-ups off a balcony over and open fire or walk through the snow with a log on your shoulders BUT, picturing your life with training montage music under it couldn't hurt.
