Originally from Cartago, Colombia, Mark Sonoda was raised and educated on the sunny shores of Miami, FL. After studying business administration and statistics at the University of Connecticut, Mark also earned his BA in Film Production / Screenwriting from Miami International University.

 

Yet, his career within the film industry began when he was 19 years old. Beginning in the world of music videos and commercial, Mark quickly emerged as a solid line producer which earned him the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s leading commercial / music video directors. In 2002, he began to widen his horizons by entering the fast-paced world of feature films. He took a post in New York with a well-established independent production company, serving as an executive in feature film development and production.

 

In 2005, after working on over a three dozen feature films, Mark worked as an International Production consultant for Warner Brothers in Australia & Eastern Europe, overseeing production on countless studio tentpole feature films. Upon completing his tenure with WB, Mark moved to Los Angeles, CA to further pursue his career as a producer/executive by joining the development team of Eclectic Pictures, a development/production company of Millennium/Nu Image Films.  

 

After four years of feature development and working on dozens features, Mark left Millennium/Nu Image to work as an independent producer and industry consultant, specializing in film financing, feature development and physical production, under his private banner Dauntless Studios. In 2023, Mark joined Cinterra Enteratainment as the company’s Head of Business Development & Literary.
